About Me
Olá! My name is Paula and i’m passionate about sharing my language and teaching more people to speak Portuguese. I studied to be a Waldorf teacher and an English teacher and spent five years teaching children at Portuguese and English primary schools.
For the past years, i have dedicated myself fully to teaching Portuguese as a foreign language to both children and adults.
My Method
Firstly I meet students for a trial lesson, to get to know their objectives, their interests, and what kind of learners they are. Each person is different and i try to adapt to every student. In my classes, i use a communicative approach and we start talking from day.
My goal is to make students feel comfortable with the language and not be afraid to make mistakes. I work on the development of speaking, reading, listening, and writing skills, as well as proper pronunciation and improving the vocabulary.
In my classes, you will learn about Brazilian and Portuguese culture, through music, texts, videos, quizzes, and pictures. Classes for children are full of games and arts!

Types of Classes
Private
Lessons adjusted to your needs and goals.
Small Groups
Joint lessons for small groups (max 4) that are at a similar level. This can either be you and a group of friends, or I can match you with other students at your level.
Children
Private lessons for children of 6 years and up to make them feel comfortable in their new language through art, games and music. This can either be their first contact with the language (e.g. before an expected move), or additional support and confidence for children already living in a Portuguese speaking environment.
In Person
In-person lessons in Porto/Gaia - Portugal, both individual or in (small) groups.
